can make a pretty good case that while the history of the United States reveals a large and continuous innovation in business and industry, can also be argued that American history is the history of warfare. Depending on one's working definition of war, without doing the research I have identified was thirteen wars involving the U.S. Our government claims that all of them were not only necessary, but largely forced on us. From my perspective, first looks a little "iffy", certainly has been forced upon us, and at least eleven were actually our choice, even though our leaders claimed we had no choice.
think the American War "suspicious" the war of 1812 is definitely forced upon us, and the Mexican War 1846-1848, the war between the States, Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq I, Iraq II , Afghanistan and all wars of choice. I probably missed some, but this list tells a story.

Almost without a doubt, almost all Americans will take into account that we had no choice but to revolt against England and form a new country. The founders certainly thought so. And maybe in the long run it is inevitable. However, they were "facts"at that time so clearly that we had to act when and how did we do? We all know our founders position on this subject, but is it possible that the political class in England also thought that the "facts" clearly justify their position? What was their position in their own eyes?

colonists complained about taxes. For England it is quite rational point of view, recently spent a lot of money to protect the colonies during the French and Indian wars, and considered to be completely obvious that the colonies should bear part of the costs, and taxes are made to recover part of its war costs. From the colonists' entirely rational point of view, they have fought shoulder to shoulder with the Crown forces and thus owed nothing more for their "protection". It is also true that the colonists had input regarding taxes, or much anything else, and so complained of taxation without representation. Although it is clear that the colonists, it claimed a lack of team completely confused the government. It was, and still is, a common practice in England for the subjects to be represented in Parliament by the member who is not actually in the districts they represented. Clearly, someone somewhere in England colonists are not staying there, and the settler assertions of taxation without representation had absolutely no merit. To crown the overall activity showed more and more expensive to pay more taxes on all his subjects, but not necessarily the same tax at all. So, Americans have had to pay stamp taxes, taxes on tea and so on, while respondents in other parts of the empire may have paid different taxes, but they do pay. There were other problems are rarely mentioned, such as the right to the goods could be carried out in England only in "English" ships. It is clear that each side thought their views on issues that are completely logical and correct, and so are the appropriate parties.

Relatively soon after the cessation of hostilities, they entered the period of shared prosperity through trade, and eventually began to share common interests, often working together. I count it as a war we must fight.

Mexican War 1846-1848 used a straight forward matter of Mexicans in Santa Anna attacked U.S. territory after the U.S. annexation of Texas in 1845, who still consider Mexico their territory, which means that the war was forced on us. Recent scholarship by Eisenhower and others suggest that Americans are actually fake an attack on him in the alleged U.S. territory, searching for the invasion of Mexico in return. President Polk favored American expansionism, and approved of the war. Seemingly the only member of the U.S. government who smelled a rat was Congressman Abraham Lincoln, who has repeatedly demanded explicit information about the "true", where the alleged attack took place, all that the government ignores.

Mexico was not able to reject the U.S. military invasion. General Scott sent a force south through the center of the country, capturing towns and cities with little problem. Scott sends more forces to the landing by sea area near Mexico City, and mounted an amphibious attack on the lightly defended territory. The Americans captured in Mexico City with little trouble. But they soon came to realize that they could not control all the territory they had overrun. southern parts of Mexico is not the interest of Americans, but Mexican President offered 30 million U.S. dollars for the territory they wanted. When he refused, they offer a $ 15 million less Mexican official, who has been accepted. The United States wound up with parts of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California. Since the latest episode seems more realistic view, I will consider this "voluntary" war.

in negotiations with Lincoln shortly before the actual outbreak of war, he agrees to allow the south to return to the Union under the same conditions existing when he left, including the practice of slavery. This is something dear to the south, but explained that representatives of the South needed a larger share of the tariff for re-orient its economy. Lincoln was as immovable as a rock, and make absolutely no concessions on this point. When it comes to the failure of negotiations reached President Davis, he was ordered to fire on Fort Sumpter.

I personally believe that Lincoln as he was opposed to unnecessary bloodshed as anyone else, but he could not depart from the south to allow access to postage payment, and would not be reduced to the north of the share of national income. My private opinion is that the South was willing to allow the EU to maintain tariff collection in the southern ports, Lincoln would agree, but that would have left South with no money, except for their profits from trade with England. But the South does not offer, and the last chance for compromise passed. I think a civil war war election, because it seems reasonable that a compromise could be achieved by the two sides had any idea about the terrible massacre that followed. To believe that civil war was fought over slavery is believed that more than 600,000 people have been willing to give their lives over the fate of the slaves that only about 15% of Southerners owned in any case, while slavery persisted in the north.

World War I was completely avoided, at least for the reasons given for it. Most, but not all, Americans favored the British in the war against Germany, even though the U.S. had a significant German community at the time. The facts are simple and speak for themselves. Although the United States still neutral, the British passenger ship Lusitania loaded in New York, including many Americans and Canadians. Most current accounts state that the ship secretly carrying ammunition and other war material, but this fact is clearly known to the public. German Embassy in Washington announced that the Lusitania was, in fact, carry ammunition in violation of his official status of civilians, and that German submarines were ordered to sink her. Embassy set up a good sized ads in American newspapers warning that the ship sank, a strong counseling (almost begging) Americans not to sail onboat ,potential passengers were fully informed about this and anxious to talk about sailing the ship with his captain . The captain assured passengers that the Lusitania was sunk soon be submarines, and close to two thousand people eventually sailed on her. U.S. government, including specifically the President Wilson, was fully aware of the situation, including the fact that the Germans had a strenuous effort to convince the civilians who do not sail the ship. Apparently the U.S. government made no effort to restrain its citizens from sailing on the boat.

German submarines spotted the Lusitania near Ireland. The British Admiralty informed the captain that U-boats were in the area and change course. submarine fired a torpedo at his last Lusitania, which has caused tremendous damage and sank in fifteen minutes. Previously, the German submarines were allowed ships passengers and crew to enter the lifeboats before their ship sank, but the attack submarine's captain claimed that he could not communicate with the ship because of dense fog in the area. sinking caused a huge commotion in England and the United States, although both the government and potential passengers were more than adequately informed that the Lusitania was definitely carrying a weapon, which is subject to its sinking under international law and that the Germans had fully intended to sink her.

In what appears to be extremely disingenuous act with respect to extreme efforts the Germans have done to civilians from the sailing ship, President Wilson said the sinking of the Lusitania in his speech declared war against Germany. There is no slightest doubt that the United States, First World War was a war of choice.

According to public record, there is the slightest doubt that Franklin Roosevelt desperately wanted to join the British in World War II, and for two years trying to convince the American people that U.S. participation is essential. Unfortunately for Roosevelt, however, far greater part of the American nation was strongly against entering the war given the huge losses of men in the First World War, with absolutely no gain for the United States. While many people have done service to support England, and started "packages Britain" campaign, they are far outnumbered by the "America Firsters, who strongly opposes the war.

Despite strong resistance from the American people entering the war, Roosevelt insisted on both legal and illegal means to do everything possible to support the British. He drew the wrath of the public to "give" England fifty World War I destroyers in exchange for some Caribbean islands of little use to us. Ships are admittedly past their prime, but they are expensive welcomed the British. Also, as secretly as possible, he ordered the "surplus" military aircraft assembled from bases across the United States and provided that it is in England. "surplus" had an unusual sense in a country wracked by depression, and who were able to spare a lot of resources to the military for several years. In fact, the Army tank unit actually operated trucks with "Tank" in training exercises.

British badly needed military equipment from this country, but could not provide naval escorts for convoys to Great Britain, Roosevelt enraged many people in this country, ordering the Navy to carry the "exercise" about British convoys to England, in fact, replace missing Royal Navy escort and exposure of our sailors on German submarines.

Most Americans with any interest in military history have been known for some time that Roosevelt devised a plan to lure Japan into attacking us. We have been net exporters of oil and steel on time and Japan received their need for each of us. On Roosevelt's orders, Lieutenant Commander in the Navy prepared a list of actions we can take to draw Japan into war. Key plan was to cut off Japan's supply of oil and steel. The only alternative to meet their needs of oil lies far to the south in the Pacific on the Dutch island of Java and Sumatra. However, Japan would not be able to access this source of energy during the U.S. Navy ordered the Pacific Ocean.

excludes Japan access to oil in the U.S. would force the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in hopes of eliminating the U.S. fleet's ability to keep Japan from the Dutch approach to the islands. Plan the author said that Roosevelt was such a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor would most likely cause of death, 2:00 to 3:00 thousands of American sailors. Roosevelt believed that acceptable. The attack occurred at 7 December 1941, "a day that will live in infamy,"said Roosevelt.

we were forced to retaliate by declaring war Japan. Since Japan and Germany were allies, Germany has declared war on the United States, exactly what Roosevelt actually wanted. After Congress declared war on Germany, Roosevelt virtually ignored the war with Japan. During the war, the Pacific campaign suffered from a lack of sufficient troops, ships, supplies, and generally all the way to deliver the war because most of our support went to war with Germany. Because of Roosevelt's conniving, although we have actually been attacked by Japan, joined England against Hitler's definitely made the Second World War a war of choice.

Korean War was fairly unusual in American military history. Neither our country nor that of the allies was attacked. By the end of World War II the U.S. had 40,000 soldiers in Korea. She began the removal of these troops because we had military interests or commitments in Korea. Status of Korea so far as the United States was concerned about was unclear until the Secretary of State Dean Acheson defined our intentions for Asia in January 1950th He said that the United States will defend Japan militarily, Rykus islands, and the Philippines. He does not mention Korea, and it is not considered in our veil of protection. One source claims that the U.S. presence in Korea when the North invaded, 472 officers and men. Others argue that it was zero. What is perfectly clear that we had contractual commitments, no promises to defend Korea, in fact, without obligation of any kind for the defense of Korea after Dean Acheson's statement about our role in Asia.
What is not clear at all why Truman felt the need to intervene in Korea. The only thing I found about it that Truman wanted to show the "Commies" that we would not stand by while they absorbed a free country. This would be consistent with its policy of "containing" communism in Europe, but that we are committed to continuous war, which might have. The only other justification seems to be that the Communists from approaching Japan because we had to take the responsibility to protect it. But what real difference would be made if the communists had advanced several hundred miles closer to Japan? There were still several hundred miles of ocean between Korea and Japan.

President Kennedy was in the early stages of withdrawal from South Vietnam, when he was killed. President Johnson's close ties with top military leaders and accepted their assessment that victory in Vietnam was achievable. While participation in the war in Vietnam was in accordance with the policy of restraint, it was clearly voluntary on our part. conflict was not forced on us. We do not have fought that war.

Except for the human suffering involved, the first Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm, resembles a comedy of errors. Iraq claims that Kuwait was "slant drilling" to steal Iraqi oil actually in the territory (Kuwait is likely). After talks with U.S. ambassador in Iraq leader believed that the United States would not interfere if Iraq invaded Kuwait, and he continued to do so. The killing followed by both sides, but Kuwait won the world's sympathy after publishing faked story that Iraqi soldiers were killing babies. Iraq's presence so far south, also threatened the Saudi Arabia oil fields of strategic importance for the United States and the first President Bush ordered the U.S. military how to protect the oil fields in Kuwait in order to save from devastation. After a significant buildup, including the allied forces from several countries, led by General Schworzkopf devastating attacks on Iraqi forces that are pushing towards Baghdad. Schworzkopf aborted entry into Baghdad, in the absence of any part of the urban guerrilla warfare. America saw the event as a great victory for the United States, and the operation served as a very strong morale builder for the U.S.
