During the 1980s, there were few female artists on the heavy metal scene. Doro Pesch was one of them, led by Germen heavy metal band Warlock . band started in the traditional way of metal in their first album Burning witches, inspired by bands such as Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Accept.

After his first album, the Warlock has released two albums - Hellbound and true as steel, in two consecutive years, after several line up changes, their fourth full. effort - Triumph and agony was released in 1987. Kittie is a Canadian all female metal band based in London. It was formed in 1996. Their shot at fame was triggered by their hit single brackish in 1999. They played as support band for Slipknot next year, which helped them to gain a fan following metal underground.

singer, pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody has come together in Arkankas, USA in 1995 and founded the band Evanescence . Musically, the band's blend of nu metal and gothic metal with symphonic overtones. Amy Lee's powerful and haunting voice, coupled with a tight band playing music was an instant hit in the mainstream. Their first album - Fallen - released in 2003, won two Grammy awards and sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. The album spent an unprecedented 43 weeks on the Billboard top 10, going on to become 6 times platinum in the U.S.. compilation album called Anywhere but Home is published next year.
